Junior Sous Chef with The Optimist

You will be working in a fast-paced kitchen, supporting the Sous Chef/Head Chef in kitchen operations. You will ensure that your section is ready for service, and that you prepare the dishes promptly to the expected standards. You will also take ownership of back of house duties such as stock take and staff training.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare the kitchen for service, both people and mise en place
  • Cook dishes in a timely manner up to restaurant standards
  • Support colleagues when needed
  • Maintain adherence to health and hygiene procedures
  • Manage and control stock
  • Oversee and train team members

 

Requirements

  • At least 2 year experience as a Chef de Partie, or 4+ years experience working in the kitchen
  • Knowledge of western cuisine preferably Spanish
  • Positive attitude with teamwork mindset
  • Sense of responsibility for your role
  • Fluency in English is a must, other languages are advantageous
